Alox Advice Requested
I went to use an unsealed container of Lee Alox and found that it it wouldn't flow. Upon opening the container it appeared to be dried out to the consistency of a paste.
Is there a solvent or something I can add to the container to soften it up so that it will flow?

Heat it in a double boiler. See if warming it, will cause liquefaction? 0 -
I would try adding a fast drying carrier a few drops at a time like acetone (nail polish remover) or paint dryer (pentane), heat should work also. 0 -
Alox 606-55 contains 55% Alox 606 (solid) and 45% mineral spirits. 0 -
I have read where, you just add mineral spirits, this will allow the Alox to soften up. 0 -
I would use mineral spirits.
There is a popular dip lube made with Lee Liquid Alox and Johnson's Paste Wax, thinned with mineral spirits, so we know that is compatible.0
