    Morning Ambrose~

The two are functionally the same,, The difference is the baseplate- the 10/22 is curved, and the 77/22 is flat.. The only issue I've ever heard of was that a 77/22 flat base would not drop free as easily when used in some 10/22s.. That's never happened to me..

Wanted to add this.. The extended mags can be used in all of rugers rotary 22 firearms..

'The Ruger BX-Series Magazines were designed from the ground up, in-house at the Ruger factory, for flawless function and reliability in any Ruger factory original 10/22 Rifle, SR-22 Rifle, 22 Charger Pistol, 22 LR Ruger American Rimfire Rifle and 22 LR Ruger 77/22 Rifles. A rugged polymer body and follower make the magazine capable of handling prolonged use and almost any environmental condition. The steel magazine feed lips are engineered to withstand thousands of rounds without significant wear, drastically reducing ammunition feeding-related malfunctions and solving a problem that has plagued increased-capacity 10/22 magazines since their inception. The BX magazine's 15 or 25-round capacity and excellent functional reliability are certain to make any trip to the range more enjoyable, with greater time spent shooting and less dedicated to clearing malfunctions and reloading.

Note: The clear 25-round magazine is only clear on the left side.

    Technical Information

Fit: 10/22 Rifles, SR-22 Rifles, 22 Charger Pistols, 22 LR Ruger American Rimfire Rifles and 22 LR Ruger 77/22 Rifles

    Caliber: 22 Long Rifle

    Body Material: Polymer '

Got this from another site.. If you're in the market for one Ambrose, Spider gave a link.. Some of them probably give this same information..

Are you aware that GunBroker also carries those magazines? Over 200 of them, in fact. Why would you promote a competing website?

Thank you, Hangfire, for that information. I ordered a 10/22 mag. I'm sure the original will turn up and then I'll have a spare. And, in addition, I've got the 77/22 mags. in a pinch so I'm set. Thanks again.

Any 10/22 magazine will be interchangeable with any 77/22 magazine, within its cartridge. This means they both will perform and function the same, even though they may have different looking exterior features than each other.

If you feel the need, then you should stay in the GD forum...this board is for questions and answers, not BS and nitpicking.
