The first consideration is was it made by Marlin, worth more, or Remington, worth less.A nice MARLIN1894 like you describe could bring $1500.00. If made by Marlin before Remington purchased them the rifle will have a Connecticut barrel address and "JM" on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. Good luck.

If by values,($ 500-$1500), you mean asking prices. Doesn't mean squat, only the actual auction selling prices. Are a indication of fair market value.

Check what similar rifles to yours, sold for on the on-line auctions. Lot of the auction asking prices. Are nothing more then wishful thinking, from delusional crack heads.

First of all mint w/box isn't new in box - big $ collectors get out their check book for NIB, used is a shooter unless there are no NIB.

Second caliber is/can be important. Rare hard to find ones are worth more to both buyers.

Here is a 41 Mag that went for $1500 not the BIN $1800

Saw a 1 in 1000 41 mag that had zero bids at like $2500

The new search feature isn't working well for me today

As Charlie mentioned, caliber has a big influence on what the value can be. Also, configuration can play a big part too. Give us a little better description of the rifle, and maybe we can be of more help.

It is a JM by Marlin in 41 mag which is very hard to find. There are listings for the 1894 & 1894S in 41 mag but not much on the FG which was built after them.

You have a very desirable model. Value is on the high end of the valuations you listed and trending up. (depending on your definition of "mint" and the buyers definition of "mint")

Depending on the condition, and if you have the box and papers, it can sell North of $2k.

Thanks for the input. I am sorry about the delay in replies but it is deer season here. I bought the 1894Fg in 41 mag for just under $700 a month ago. I was told it was unfired & I cannot see anything to suggest it was fired. The box is correct to the rifle with some paper work as well. I guess that it was better deal than I thought.
