W. Greener Sergeants Rifle
Received a English Sergeants rifle, 1858 Pattern.Marked W. Greener on side plate with a crown. No date.Came from Charleston SC. 577 cal.Does anybody have any info on this gun? Possible Confederate?

Authentic Confederate firearms, are worth really big bucks. Because of this. All kinds of hanky panky, is tried by scammers.To prove that a gun was used by the rebs.
Unless you have provenance, that can be verified. Regarding it's history of ownership, over the last 150+ years. All it is, is a Greener Sergeants rifle.0 -

I'm not a spelling nazi, but a guy who touts himself as an expert on weaponry but doesn't know the difference between ordinance and ordnance!
Anyway, this book can help you with known Confederate markings.
