Colt Gold Cup Trophy
So how is the quality on modern Colt 1911s? I've been offered a stainless GC Trophy made in 2011, low round count basically new condition for a value of $800. It's a series 80...Colt still putting out good quality here in the last decade? Thanks

Price is OK, per the auction side. If your buying it for a shooter. See if the seller will let you test fire it? To see if accuracy, and function are OK.
Don't let their fancy name sway you though. It's not going to be the quality, fit and finish. Of the earlier, prior to the series 70 GC's.

Tis true, but a series 70 GC NM would be $1500. Thank you folks for the imput0 -
Forgemonkey will build you a top of the line 1911 for around $750.00 from what I hear.[:)] 0 -

I've had this discussion with him...I think inflation has kicked in quite a bit since you discussed it with him.....[;)]0
