M1 stock?

buttplate has a # 216 on it is the only identity mark on it, I think it's a M1 Garand.. but I am not sure..could anybody help ID?

I think you'll find that's for a Mosin Nagant..

Agree Mosin. Cutouts in the stock are for the "dog collar" leather strap that the sling attaches to.

As stated, it is for a Mosin Nagant. Just so you will know, stocks for the M1 Garand will all have pistol grips.
