Is this a gun tool?
Found it in a box of mostly 1911 parts. Anyone know what it is?

1st Model of the M1 Garand tool, nice find! 0 -
Combination Tool M3 Type 1 with an unmodified screwdriver blade. The early examples had a drawing number stamped on the blade, so this one dates to WWII. Late in the war the patch holder was replaced with a chamber brush:

After the war, most of the tools had their screwdriver blades modified to fit in the new type poppet valve lock screws (note the step that was cut in the tip of the blade):

Your tool is getting tougher and tougher to find and there are collectors of early M1 Rifles who would be interested in it.0 -
