Ruger bearcat

Hey guys. I have a Ruger Bearcat with the serial number 1774 but everything I've ready sort of confuses when I try and date it. Anyone know what year this piece was manufactured. It's definitely the older model. With such a low serial number...is it a first run? I can take pictures if needed but didn't know/think it was necessary.

  I've found an old Ruger Bearcat - no medalian, no caliber marking. Odd serial number - S491. Any info?
