    Keep up posted - updated in GD please.

    I for one am interested in seeing what it yields at auction.

    If it were me I would put new wood on it and shoot it (retaining the original wood) and try and find a reproduction rear sight to match the front (strobels would be a good guide)

    The 1886 action is overbuilt - like a Swiss artillery piece.

    Not certain how many .38-56 WCF guns were made (total or percentage)

    My 1886 is chambered in the much maligned and unpopular .33 WCF
