Would like to know when this knife was made. Model 6397 stag handle. serial # 47606 marked on hilt. Thanks! Harry

  I have a chart that if I read it correctly that would be made in 1966.

  Harry, it's not a serial number, it's a date code like 4440 said.

  I checked my Trail Boss that I bought in Germany in 75 as a Christmas present - # is 4th quarter 1975
