Muzzle Device Threading
A while back I posted of the challenges getting a good muzzle device for my FAL - 9/16x24LH brakes aren't exactly plentiful, going the thread adapter route hasn't gotten me what I want. The suggestion was made to rethread a muzzle device I already have from its current 1/2x28 to 9/16x24LH. It's a brake version of the AR "Birdcage". I see lots of barrel threading services and I've bounced e-mails without response. Does anyone know of a gunsmith who will rethread just the muzzle device from its current to the needed 9/16x24LH?
As an aside, I'm in CA and have to be careful, no FH allowed.
Any gunsmiths to whom I can be directed?

There's a couple here on GB that look like they oughta work. One is even listed with your thread pattern. Assuming, of course, that California would allow you to import such a dangerous piece of hardware...

DSA has 9/16-24 (the correct way to write SAE threads. 9/16 x 24 would be metric) brakes listed for less than $20.oo.

Any competent machinist ought to be able to cut/recut that thread for you.
Since it's not a serialized item a licensed smith isn't needed.0
