Toss it in the garbage and buy a new one.

    OK. I'm kidding.

Toss it in the garbage, then buy something ELSE. [;)]

OK, if you MUST do this, you first make sure the gun is empty. Then you point it in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Then you press the little doohickey on the back of the slide to release the slide.

I believe its the same as the J22.

There are a bunch of Jennings disassembly videos on U Tube. One is at this link. Disregard the ones from the trolls, who suggest using hacksaw.

A long time ago, I sold a Davis P-380 to a GunBroker buyer. The Davis is a cheapie and takes down the same way, by pushing in on the takedown insert in the back of the slide.

This BONEHEAD couldn't figure out how to take the Davis down, and I guess was too proud or too ignorant to ask for help, so he took a screwdriver and tried to PRY the slide off the frame!

He broke the slide and the frame in the process, and then had the nerve to return it and demand a refund because the gun was broken.

When I got it back, I found that the useful parts left on the gun were the grips, the grip screws, and the magazine, so I paid him for those parts only, and not the parts he destroyed.

That's why I tell people, "You work on it, you own it."

Sootch on YouTube has a whole series on mouse guns and includes field stripping and reassembly.

The doohickey is also where the firing pin shows in the center.

I have a J22 bought in the 80's and in spite of its failings and inevitable future failings, that it is made of pot metal, and that it is the butt of numerous jokes, I found mine accurate and reliable.

I've only shot maybe 50 rounds through it so it's remaining life may be half over. At $49 for the gun, that works out to be $.50/shot for the joy of shooting this gun for the life expectancy of the pistol.
