Ithaca SxS
I have a side by side 20 gauge that came from my grandfathers estate that I need some information on. The only markings I have found is, on the receiver it says "Ithaca, NY", the barrels say 'smokeless powder shells", The serial number is 227920 and is listed under the the forearm and inside the receiver. Also on the right hand side of the receiver there is an engraved pointing dog. Can somebody tell me, is this a Ithaca, Hunter Arms, etc? What year was is manufactured and the approximate value from 95% to 99%.

I just, today, received a 20ga Ithaca sxs, I'm already in love haha. Older gun, I guess referred to as a Flues model.
Question, is the older 28ga Ithaca built on a 28ga frame, or the 20ga frame? Not the SKB guns. If so, the 28ga frame, I'm going to have to have one.0 -
If none of our folks can help. You might consider, GOOGLEing to find shotgun specific forums on the net. There was at least a couple. But I haven't been on them for awhile. Older doubles like your Ithaca, are very popular subject on them. 0 -
There is a good bit of info out there if you google "Ithaca Flues".I recently sold a nice 12 ga trap gun and had to research it. I just read that some 28 ga guns were as light as 5 1/2 lbs so I'm guessing there was a 28 ga frame. These are super nice shotguns. Good luck!! 0 -
as near as I can remember the stocks for fitting they were 12 gauge then 16 and 20 same size then 28 and 410 same size so I would think that would determine frame sizes. 0 -
Thank you fellows, I'll keep looking for answers. 0
