Does this look like a coyote?
I took these with my phone after work, in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. I know there are coyote's in western, PA...but does this look like one?

Looks like one to me. 0 -
Yep 0 -
Mostly coyote but possibly a wee bit of wolf or dog based on the slightly "stocky" looking body profile. Just my opinion---you should have been shooting bullets instead of film. 0 -
Yepper, coyote, and well fed at that.
Any reports of pets disappearing in the area?0 -
Do a Web search on northeastern coyotes.
A lot of wolf DNA in those big yotes.0 -
Thank you all for the verification! 0 -
CHOOT IT! CHOOT IT! CHOOT IT! 0 -
Yep. Coyote/Wolf crosses are indeed occurring in the NE creating a sort of super coyote, up to 150 pounds. Genetic testing shows that coy-dogs are mostly myth, much less common than supposed. 0 -
Very big coyote the gait with the down cast pointed tail gives it away. Shot one coyote that looked like a wolf south of D'Hanis, Texas during deer season. It was big as a medium sized shepherd. 0 -
Coyotes have been in PA since the early 50's. The PA Game Commission had pictures of a dead coyote in the PA Game News shot in the Philadelphia area in 1953. They have spread everywhere. I hear them about once a week for the last year but have never seen them around my house. I'm in northcentral PA above I80. Killed one in fall Turkey season in 08, saw one in deer season but couldn't get a shot off last year. One of the guys at camp shot a "red" coyote a couple of years ago, got it mounted for free and was offered $1000 for it. 0
