    Thanks for the reply.
I have an early M 70 ( 15912-1938 ) w/heavy barrel & marksman stock. I would like to know if there are any production stats available for these limited production rifles and where to find them.

Thanking you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Sammie, there were two versions, the National Match Rifle, and the Bull Gun Solid Frame. In 1941 they sold for $100 and $118 for the Bull Gun. I think Bert may have some info on numbers produced, he'll be along.

The Rifleman's Rifle by Rule would be a good source of information. Without pictures It difficult to figure out which model you have.
The heavy stock with wide forearm was called the Marksman Stock. It sounds like what you have. It was available on the National Match, the Target Model (frequently and incorrectly referred to as the bull gun), and the true Bull Gun. The bull gun barrel was was 28" in length and tapered in diameter from 1.25" at the receiver ring down to .845" at the muzzle.
The target model had a medium heavy barrel that could be either 26" or 28" in length. The National Match barrel had a standard weight barrel with a length of 24". These guns came in various chamberings, some of which are much scarcer than the others.

If you can use these descriptions to determine which model you have and you give the chambering, I can probably help you determine the production figures.

The dimensions and model descriptions I have cited above are from Rule"s book.
