Model 1894 Winchester
I have a 1894 25-35 26 inch barrel with a bad dent in my magazine. Can I use a magazine from a 92 44-40 for a replacement? I never have had very good luck trying to take a dent out without it opening the back side up.

No you can not... unless you want a magazine that is 2-inches too short. The Model 92 has a 24-inch barrel versus a 26-inch barrel. 0 -
I have a Win. '73 that had a nasty dent in the mag tube. Pushed in a rod that was a snug fit, working it in slowly while tapping the dent lightly with a hammer (there was no bluing left to protect). Removed the rod, closed up the gap by careful squeezing in a vise (using thin cardboard to save the patina), rotating several times to maintain roundness, hard to tell it had been there. The split line is not very visible anyway, after assembly. 0 -
Make a mandrel to work the dent. A real gunsmith could fix it for you - gun assembler not so much. 0
