Holster Repair
Finally found a holster, an old Bauer Bros., that's a perfect fit for my '48 vintage Woodsman Sport. Only problem is that retainer strap is about 1" too long. Deep carving of former owners name under belt loop apparently removes this from any collector consideration so I have no qualms about shortening the strap. (on the hidden, i.e; not snap, end). A simple split rivet would do the job but even though hidden, I just don't like the looks of it on the back side.
Original rivet had a shank(?) diameter of 1/10".
Wondering if a brass, or even stainless, Arkansas Screw Post might be a good fix? Any advice on sources for such, or alternative fix?
Thanks,
Rob

Pic's would help. Tandy Leather has a variety of fasteners.

Since you already have a hole I would punch a new hole in the strap and secure it with a Chicago screw. 0 -
In this case be sure to locktite the Chicago screw. 0 -
Send an email to Trinity... 0 -
I had a snap added to a shoulder holster by a local leather/saddle shop. If you have one in your area I would give them a try. Mine was inexpensive and quick. 0 -
Assuming that "Chicago screw" is same as Arkansas screw post.
Would email Trinity if I had the address????0 -
