9mm Smith Wesson K38
Did S&W offer a 9mm Luger cylinder for the K38 or any of their 38spl pistols? Thanks.

Never heard of a factory 9mm cylinder for a K38.
The Model 547 9mm was on a K frame but it had a number of differences from the .38 Specials.
There are custom shops that will rechamber a .38 to 9mm and if you can round up a spare cylinder you can have a convertible revolver.0 -
Thanks, I hadn't heard of one either(K38). The 547's are pretty pricey, now as only some 7000 4" one's were made and fewer 3" ones back in the 80's

S & W made a version of the Centennial, in 9mm. During the 1990's. It was listed as the Model 940. Course it was a 5 shot, "J" frame, not one of the larger "K" frames. You specified. 0 -
They now make a L frame 7 shot 986 0 -
Smith did not make a cylinder in 9mm for the K frame .38 specials. They did make the 547 dedicated to 9mm since it has a special extractor star to handle the rimless 9mm case. I have a 547.
I also have an N frame model 929 8 shot 9mm made at the Smith Performance Center. It is made to be shot with full moon clips and was developed for the competition revolver crowd with help from Jerry Miculek.0 -

Don't think Smith ever offered a conversion cylinder per se, though it has offered various 9mm revolvers over the years.
Korth offers (offered) something like this for L frames:

Some private shops/gunsmiths will do this conversion for you:
