what kind if a stamp is that ?0 -
The very first thing you should do is get a factory letter to make sure that is factory engraving, if you haven't already. Without a factory letter, it is my opinion that that engraving is disputable.
The photo's are not large, or clear enough to be able to tell if that is a factory pattern. I would get ahold of the museum at Cody, to get that letter.

EDIT 1
With the full serial number, or perhaps "XX"ing out the last two digits, if you feel you need to for security purposes, we can tell you to the month it was made. With the full serial, Bert H, can tell you to the exact day, and other tidbits, like if that is factory engraving.0 -
I will contact museum Monday. Just wanted to get an idea.

Doesn't look factory to me, but I'd get the letter. Perhaps you know someone with a good camera and the skills to use it, would be a good investment for insurance purposes especially if it's factory work.
The K stamp looks bubba to me.
added No clue what it is or what it stands for, perhaps an owner's initial. Having stamped firearms and other items in the past the stamp looks like it was pieced together or double struck aka bubba work.0 -
I will try to get a letter. What do You mean K STAMP looks like Bubba ??? What is K STAMP FOR ? 0 -
The "stamp" is "KS," and it's engraved, not stamped. It is the mark of the engraver. 0 -
KS. is engraver? 0 -
Definitely Not factory original. 0
