Friend has a marlin 36a with a round bolt receiver. I didn't know any 36swere made with a round bolt. 24" carrel, 1/2 mag. Serial No. E256
Were any 36s made with a round bolt? Thanks

  probably a 'parts clean-up' special, a 36 barrel on a 336 receiver

  It could possibly a Glenfield the model number for them was 36A the barrel would still have Marlin stamped on them

  Not a glenfield. Said it was made in 1948.
