Trench Gun 1897 Win.
In case of a REAL WWII Trench Gun model 97 Win, how much would a replacement stock hurt it's value? I am taking about old replacement. With a steel checkered butt plate and military rear sling swivel. No military markings on the wood. Overall condition is about 93-94%. Not an arsenal rework, not a parts gun and not refinished. The only issue (IMO) is the stock). In others words , How much would a replacement stock hurt the value of otherwise current and original WWII Trench Gun Win 97 in a very nice condition .

You don't say the condition of the original stock or if you even have it but if at all possible you should keep the original stock if you have it. A good wood worker can repair almost anything. 0 -

Alex,
It is at least a 50% reduction in the value. The original stock with its "WB" or "GHD" and crossed cannons cartouche is a key component to the collector value.0
