J Stevens Springfield 16 double

Just acquired a 16 ga double. J. Stevens Springfield on rec 1500. Cant find a serial #. 15 WK is stamped on rec, bottom of bbls and forearm hdw and forearm wood. I would guess this not ser. No. Any help on info please. And thanx

    take stock off my be on tang side ,take off barrels possible stamped in barrell flats on reciver

    the '15wk' is the ser. #, back then they used letters also

    before the 1968 gun control act long guns did NOTHAFT
    to have serial numbers many of the lower cost items did not bother to put serial on their guns
