Identify this rifle
A friend brought this over to see if I could find out what it is. It has been sporterized; the barrel and stock have been cut and the bolt handle has been cut and turned down. I think someone will recognize it from the shape of the safety and rear end of the barrel where it screws into the receiver. Any Info will be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I am curious in this rifle and would like to learn more about it. However I have no idea what it is.

Italian Mannlicher-Carcano.
There are several variants, I can't tell which this one used to be by looking at the pieces. Do you have the trigger guard and magazine?0 -
Agreed. Carcano. With the hexagonal barrel I think it's pre WWII. 0 -
Safety gives it away- agreed. 0 -
I do not have the floorplate or magazine assembly. I also thought the safety looked like a Carcano. Thanks everyone! 0
