Just guessing WW 1 for a 1903 Springfield.

Charlie is correct; it was used on the M1903 during WWI.

The first one, Model of 1904 was not adopted, but the Model of 1908 & Model of 1913 were. All are quite collectible, as are any accessories such as bases, leather cases, etc. The rubber eyepiece & leather case should be handled carefully if intact, but they may be beyond saving.

    Photos would be helpful.

Don't mean to criticize. But close-up photos showing more detail, and condition of sight and case. Would attract more bidders, IMHO.

    Greg,
A very nice period-correct rig w/ plenty of potential. Leather condition is astounding.
Per above advice, it would behoove you to post some professional-quality pics.
Bite the proverbial bullet if necessary, & find/hire a savvy lens jockey to do this if necessary, might be a task above your pay grade.
The results will surprise you. G' luck !!
