Smith 63
Hey guys, just a couple of quick questions for those with a Smith reference book or the knowledge embedded in their memory. I have a stainless Smith 63 22lr revolver with serial number 449xx. No letters in serial number and no dash.
Is this what they call the kit gun and approximately what year does the serial number indicate it being manufactured? Would the gun have come with a wooden set of grips on it? I assume the rubber ones on mine are aftermarket.
Thanks in advance,
Stan

Yes it is the kit gun, and it should have came with walnut magna service grips. Are you sure that there is not an "M" in front of the serial number? But with that number I'd guess around 1972. 0 -
The serial number is on the bottom of the grip frame. You probably need to remove the rubber grips to see it.

Some of the rubber grips has slots cut on the bottom so the serial number could be seen... 0 -
Will try to get it out tonight and check. 0
