New in box Ser#U169718 mfg. 1987? Is this a quality firearm? Any idea of value? Thanks

Early West German, ( years before reunification), made. NIB, it would have collector value, over and above a recently made 226.

The West German proof mark for 1987, would bethe capitol letters "IH".

Mine was U4189XX. I loved that gun, had it Robarized with an action job and Np3...then I stupidly traded it away for some other gun somewhere....<sigh>

They are very good guns.

I guess I missed it by 1. Has "JH" stamped into the bottom of the barrel up front[V]
