Iver Johnson Supershot Sealed eight

I have an old IJ 22 marked .22 Supershot Sealed Eight on the left side of the bbl. The top of the bbl. is marked Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works. The serial number on the trigger guard is 1356. Under the one piece grip it is marked L 1356. Can anyone help me with the date of manufacture ?

  First year of production- 1932. According to the book by the late Mr. Bill Goforth, the Grand Guru of IJs.

  I think that is one of the few IJ I would consider owning. They were a good shooter for their time.

  Thanks. I thought it was an early one. The finish is down to grey , but the grips are in good shape. It shoots like a champ . I use std vel cci stuff and it extracts fine.
  I really appreicate the date of man. Makes me like it more. Thanks again. Tom
