Is this a Burnside Carbine Rifle Hammer ??
Bought this many years ago from a Gunsmith/WWII Vet. If our memory is correct we were told this is for a Burnside Carbine Rifle. Very large, beautifully finished metal, never used? Main body measures approx. 2 7/8" tall, square mounting hole 9/32", hammer thumb piece 1/2" wide and hammer marked IAB or 1AB. Anyone know how to verify this for sure and does it fit other rifles? Thanks
