I don't think you can more of that powder in the case than is good for it, but it always pays to start low.

I see it's made in Belgium, I would stock up if it works out for you.

I would suggest the Remington primers be 9 1/2M Remington 9 1/2 without the M are not Magnum primers.
Federal 215 is a good choice. (use MAGNUM large rifle primers is what I'm saying)

If you have not bought the powder I would start with Hodgdons H1000 and a minimum load and new brass or if the gun don't like what you are testing try the H1000 powder later.

The 300 Winchester magnum is most generally inherently accurate caliber and most generally likes 180 gr weight bullets for good accuracy. Be sure and install a good scope and scope mounts. A cheap scope on a 300 mag is not a good thing.

    toad67,

H-1000 is just a little too slow to use in the .300 Win. Mag. case with 180 grain TSX bullets, if that's what you want to use. You don't tell us the bullet weight so it's a little difficult to try to help you accurately.

The Ramshot Magnum is just about perfect and the supply for last 5 years has been stable. Yes you can use the 215 Federal magnum primers.

Personally, I would use the Re-23 since it has the right range for the bullet weight and it's temp stable. Others to consider are H-4831, IMR-7828SSC, Norma MRP and VVN-165 or VVN-560. These are all the ones I've tested and find to be useful powders with the slightly heavier bullets.

    Best.

Dunno how Barnes can recommend ANY Remmy primer; the QC just isn't there anymore. The 9 1/2M primers I've bought were hit-and-miss, causing hangfires, no fires, and the ones that pop were few & far between.
I use heavy bullets (180-220gr) for hunting loads, and pack 'em with H414 or one of the 4350 powders over CCI or Fed primers.
Haven't tried the TSX bullets yet, still have thousands of others left.

180 TSX BT was my intended bullet since I have 3 boxes of them.
