china your thanx...a new strain of the H1N1 swine flu virus is spreading to humans in china...G4 EA H1N1 has been prevalent on pig farms for at least 4 years and studies suggest it replicates efficiently in human airways...dozens of workers have been infected but not developed the disease but a small mutation could quickly change that turning the virus deadly......so i wonder if we could get another FREE gift from china ?????

I agree but I don't know the solution. Some of what we get from China can be classified necessities. Since we were so stupid to dismantle our industries and no longer have a trained work force, it will take some time before we can lose our reliance on China. If the dems win this year we may never rebuild our industries and get out from under Chinas thumb. The data that shows nearly identical curves pretty much ends at the beginning of May. There seems to be a significant increase in the overall death rate starting in May, but now tapering off significantly. What will be interesting is what happens over the next 12 months as Covid deaths continue to fall. Considering that a huge percentage of the people who have died were approaching end of life, the curve over these next 12 to 18 months will show the Covid increase followed by a similarly sized decrease as we reach normalcy.
As to the main topic? This thing was coming here regardless of what China did. Yes, they suppressed information leading up to the Christmas buying seasons so as to maintain their economy, but odds are their actions did little in the larger scheme of things as it relates to total deaths in the US. It looks like this thing is not a winter only virus, so it was going to be here, just as it is here now, and will be here until it runs its course. Unless, of course, we hide from it hoping for a vaccine unicorn to come flying in to save us.0 -
