    After a few days of going back and forth with the county legal concial, which told my attorney that the tresurer was correct and that I wasn't, told my attorney to file a law suit and they would begin collection action agaisnt us.
    I try and pick and chose my battles. After much time time going over everything with my lawyer, who was more than willing to fight this, but at what cost in time and cash. He said that I am in the right, but at what point do you just give them their freaking $44.20 and call it a day?
    I paid it yesterday.
    During all this, have found this is not the first time the county has just pulled a number out of their butts and billed someone.
    They billed a farmer for his new barn being too tall in line with an airport over 4 miles away, AFTER they gave him a building permit and the building inspecter had approved of the new barn. The trees next to the barn were taller than the barn. BUT.........for a small fee of $900.00 they gave him a new building permit, AFTER the barn was doneA county employee has "LEFT" his job after the clerk went to pay the auto maintenance monthly bills and wondered why there was a new set of tires on a Chevy when they drive dodge's........
    A contracter was court order to pay $4400.00 for not having an employee bathroom and a parking lot for the building that he keeps his backhoes and dozers in. Fought them for a year, but lost. He has no employees, it is a steel building that he parkks his equipment in.
    I paid it, ain't happy about it, but, again, where do you draw the line?

    Yep, sometimes it's just cheaper to be robbed by the government than to pay to fight it[xx(][xx(]
