have a commander and full size in ATI GSG 22lr..no issues ..nice couple of favs are the RIA Armscor XT22 lr and XT22M magnum...both all steel ..oldie is an ballester molina hasfada argentine colt in 22lr..got the XT22M 3 days after 2017 xmass...probably the first in kansas , been trying to snag one for 3 years and dealer got the one at a dealer convention back east and i got it..then found 3 extra 14 rd mags in nevada...have several conversion 22s on 1911 style frames..always thought the browning 1911 style 22 was overpriced ...have 4 of the American Arms PK22 in 1911 style only DA single safety..people have missed the boat on these as they are ALL stainless steel blackened..only AA clone to be all SS 0 -
I have many different conversion units for 1911 type pistols KART being my favorite they all shoot well if you know how to set them up the Kart unit will shoot out of a ransom rest as good as any match grade 22lr pistol I own 0 -
The only 1911 I own is a Chippewa like this. It?s cool has a faux silencer for effect 0 -
Junk. The white dots left the rear sights with the first two shots. Not exaggerating. I missed that they were made of zinc alloy before I bought it. Essentially a Jennings/Raven. Save your money for something better Doc. 0 -

I bought a used one locally. It has been 100% with everything but subsonic (and silencer). Feels and shoots great. 0 -

I bought the Kimber conversion kit when they were first introduced - and Kimber was trying to get dealers and distributors to stock them and try them out - special deals were offered through the distributor if you were a stocking dealer.
Only offered in flat matte stainless with blue nylon magazines at that point
We got a fantastic insider deal and sold several through the gunshop - I ended up keeping one and have always been impressed with it - it worked fine on a WWII variant and a series 70 colt and my custom built Essex...
Spare magazines were super pricey and almost unobtainable

I have the Kimber conversion also and love it.
By the way, you can get spare magazines one on fleaBay all the time and they're not that expensive0
