Ammo prices.....where are the hoarders?
To all the folks who said ammo would never be cheap again; what happened? I admit I thought 22 LR would never be under $3/box or $25/brick again. Well, I bought some Thunderbolts for $15/brick out-the-door recently and here on GB I see Federal Champion 22 going for as low as $126/5000. (plus $40 shipping)
And 9 m/m is as cheap as $8/box at WMart. 22 Mag. around $10/box.
5 years ago .22 LR was regularly $100/brick or more. Prices now are at 2012 levels.
Will it last for long? I think Trump is the answer to that question. When a democrat gets back in, ammo may go the route of bumpstocks. All the guns they hate will be silent with no ammo.

Wholesale cost on 22lr has remained steady until just recently when Remington offered Thunderbolts up for cheap to dealers so they could use them for Black Friday specials. Ditto on Federal with their specially packaged 22lr and rebate on BF.
Hopefully prices will come down but I don't think they will come down to the prices we've seen on Thunderbolts and the Federal "black" or whatever they were calling it.0 -
I have another 1K coming tomorrow ($240.00). Waiting for 223/556 HP, then I'll really spend some money.
Haven't tried any of the black stuff PSA is sellimg.0 -

I agree kannoneer, I haven't bought any ammo since obozo's first election(except to feed a few new firearms of unusual calibers) - for me that is. My thought initially is an ammo tax ? and then? 3 -
If Trump's reelection looks in doubt, stock up on reloading components. Enough to last you at least 8 years. I did that just before Obummer's election and had no personal ammo shortages as a result. [;)] 0 -

I see you guys are raggin' on me for buying 'Thunderduds' and I agree! I have never liked them; too inconsistant, inaccurate, etc. But, lo and behold, my Bersa Thunder .22 will work with them.
It is the finickiest gun I have ever had but I like it anyway. With Federal bulk ammo, I can hardly get 2 consecutive shots off and with most other ammo I can maybe get a mag off at most. But it works with Mini-Mags and Thunderduds. Who'd a thunk it?
I have bought very little Remington .22 ammo this century. Back in the '60s, I thought it was the best you could get.0 -

In the past I've bought a lot of the Thunderbolts, I do not recall having a problem with them. It's not what I buy to hunt with but I've let kids and other new shooter fire thousands of them. 0 -

glad i stocked years ago on aguila hivel supmax 22lr hp 1750fps....got 12K rounds and now seem like it is NOT being produced for America...
great stuff and a Guns magazine editor toured the factory in messico and had good praise for it...older guy founded it and when he died jr took over and now ?????0 -

Just picked up 1500 thunderbolts for 36 bucks For .024 cent s a piece I will stock them back in the locker Cheap fun with the grandkids Lots better choices for serious work 0 -
