    I hope people who take their kids to the range give them some bran or some beans to remove lead. A light sprinkling of raw wheat bran on breakfast cereal would not be too noticeable and would remove lead. Lead is more damaging to developing brains and nervous systems.

    How old is he? Around here, the youngest any range will allow is 8 years old. But that doesn't stop me from taking my grandson's shooting, there's no age minimum in the mountains.although it gets kind of cold this time of the year

    Honestly, it's a bit much for him, but I wanted to get him something that he could still be shooting when he's fully grown.

    He just turned 7, and that's the age limit for my local range.

    Yep! I still remember the first day my Dad took me shooting. It was 53 years ago out on the desert to the east of Bend, OR and the gun was a model 72 Winchester.

    I couldn't ask for a better kid, truly.

    And yeah, plenty of shooting in his future. There's an M1 Carbine in the safe just waiting for him to get a bit older.
