Roy Clark has died..........

Country star Roy Clark, the guitar virtuoso and singer who headlined the cornpone TV show ?Hee Haw? for nearly a quarter century and was known for such hits as ?Yesterday When I was Young? and ?Honeymoon Feeling,? has died. He was 85.

I really enjoyed when he was on "Hee Haw?. The guy could play any instrument it seemed.

    He was a great guitarist. I saw him playing live on Johnny Carson one night, a five minute guitar solo. One minute in, one of his strings broke. He continued without missing a note.

    Johnny was talking to Roy a minute later and Roy said, with that string broken he had to completely rearrange the song and play all the notes for the missing string on different strings, using different fretting.
    Damn, you have to be damn good to be able to do that on live nationwide tv.

    I enjoyed him on Hee Haw. Rest in Peace, Roy Clark.

    First time I saw Roy Clark was when he did a spot on the Beverly Hillbilly's TV show back in the early\mid 60's. Then enjoyed his musical talent on Hee Haw. Roy had a grin that made our [:D] icon look sad!

    Saw him many years ago at Genova's Chestnut Inn in Kansas City. He was fretting the guitar with a steel guitar steel, then borrowed a lipstick and fretted with that, then a comb. He said he had something else he could fret it with, but since it was a family show he thought he wouldn't.

    One of the 3 or 4 finest guitar players of my lifetime. RIP Roy.

    rowing up our TV and radio played nothing but country music .
    any thing else was just wasted time per my dad ( except old westerns but he would only watch a movie once )
    I truly liked hearing Roy Clark play he was amazing so many string instruments he could play and was great at singing was good also
