Can anyone confirm that the rings you hear when you are calling someone are NOT the same rings the person you are calling hears?

    To test this theory call a cell phone that is in the same room. You will hear several rings on the device making the call, while the computer locates the receiving cell phone and starts to ring.

    Per Rand-McNally's research, the ring is not the same, the ring is slower on the receiving end due to the resistance of the wire between the 2 points or in the case of a cell phone, the air creates the resistance [:D]
