Back in the early 1930s the army trials with the early M-1 prototypes found out that the mid to upper 6.5mm range bullets were flatter shooting given the same bullet weight and velocities for other rounds in service at that time and also had really good terminal performance on pig cadevaors. We are only about 80 to 85 years behind the times by the time this thing may get implemented.
