TV Antenna : Homemade : Cut that cord :

Thinking a post some time back : I cut the cord (NO more Sat.) my 'Dish' bill was @ $ 160 ! way to much to watch a handfull of channels & way to many comercials : So I started researching 'home-made' hdtv antennas : after several months & lots of attempts at different designs : I came up with one that works better than all others I have tried !
Its as simple as can be : pvc pipe made into a "T" with a can ( empty beer ) can on each leg of the "T" : I get " 62 " FREE channels , costs me apx. a lil less than $10.00 to build : Height is a factor & these are direction sensitive , a 15 degree turn makes a major difference , so ,aiming is very important & takes a few minutes to figure out what placement is best for You !

    Really bad video. Look up Danny Hodges on YouTube. I made one of his versions. Works great.

    Yes Danny Hodges is really good & makes some great stuff : the antenna Im talking about takes less than an hour to complete & set up ! Very little material & work : Simple & it works really good ! Ive not built a more complicated design yet : No Need for me : Besides , I got less than a $10.00 bill in each of mine :

    I have been Dish free for about a year after buying an RCA brand antenna. Spent about 70 bucks and it has been awesome!

    My only complaints deal with the short length of cable wire that limit use to only one set in my home that is close to a window. Ya! it is an indoor antenna. The other problem I have had is that the cable must be one of those Chinese made out of some kind of vegetable oil or something, that my wife's cat can't keep his teeth out of!![:(!]

    I just wrapped the chewed up wire with some old fashioned electrical tape and so far, the cat has been leaving it alone.

    IMO, I wish the store bought antenna's came with removable ends that could have added length cable wire added to them.

    In the shop. I had Dish. Dumped them m a long time back.
    Had to tun in the Box and part on the end of the Dish.

    I hooked up a Cable line to the old Dish Reflector and with a bit of juggling I Can get 8 channels ABC CBS, NBS, FOX and PBS (2).

    And some how I'm getting AMC and TNT (probably from Neighbors dish reflector ?). I'm 40 Miles from nearest TV Station.

    I've got DSL from the local Co-Op for TV in the house 50 yards away for the wife. I dropped HD and All the other premium Channels, 6 months ago. They changed out the DVR Box, but they are still coming in. Not being charged for them

    I just use a regular out door antenna from the 60s and 70s, before digital TV to pull in my digital signal, and it works great. better than a store-bought digital antenna. And better than that homemade one does too. I know because a friend made that one, and I pull in more channels than him with my old-fashioned top of the roof analog(?) antenna.

    Just so it wouldn't be so ugly on top my house, I put it up in the rafters in my garage
