I don't know if I would go through the work reloading .22 long rifles, but if you're interested here's a video on it

Here is part 1. It shows him going through all the steps how to prime, cast the bullets and fill and crimp the ammo.

    Anyone remember the .22 LR shortage which lasted for years and everyone complained about the hoarders and how they had ruined the .22 market forever?
    That's when the handloading of .22 rimfire made sense. Now it is a waste of time.

    I have a starter kit and some supplies somewhere....

    Bought it from brownells??? Many years ago...

    Have not used it - ordered some for the gunshop and took examples home.

    Now .30 rf or .32 rf or .41 rf would be welcome

    I still have a supply from Argentina when you could still get it and bought a mess of vintage dominion any time I found it

    They are truly hard to find.

    And my .22 extra long is like hens teeth

    Now you can reserve those kits for after SHTF and all your other ammo was expended on the Walkers. [;)]

    My local {elsewhere} just had a 5000 round case of .22LR for $100 . Yes they were Thunderbolts, but for $100 just about anybody can afford to stash them for any future issue with getting that ammo. I never bought any expensive .22 RF ammo. I always kept between 3000 and 5000 rounds on hand, and I never shot competition.


    Since becoming disabled I have no place to go and shoot so still have over 3000 rounds sitting here that the most I paid was $10 a brick for.


    If anybody is concerned about another shortage today, It is about time to buy a long term set aside stash.


    With that said, I know how to reload rimfire ammo , and it probably is something that every shooter could use in their skill set. So thanks to the OP for posting.

    There have actually been two .22 shortages in the last couple of decades. The last one was a bit longer & a bit worse.
    It made me wonder if there could ever be a shortage of air rifle pellets & if there is any practical way to make them? Because of that somewhere along the way I stocked up on far more than I am ever likely to use.

    You know, you it wouldn't be a bad idea to make some .22 shorts with it if you can figure out how to adjust the crimper. You just never see .22 shorts anymore, and there are times that they come in handy if you don't have a suppressor...
