School Teachers And Being The Boss
I have never been a school teacher but i have been the boss on more than 1 occasion. When i was an E-4 they put me in charge of 3rd shift airplane mechanics.
Some might know what full red x orders were but i was the only E-4 on base with full red x orders. I could sign everything except ejection seats.
A E-5 put in for 3rd shift boss and i did not put in for the job but i was picked. Nobody could stand the other guy.
A boss or school teacher should never talk down to or confront someone about things done wrong in front of other people. I do not like it so i will not do it to you.
However my reverse gear does not work very well. I do not back down very well. As a school teacher you can discipline a kid but do not beliddle him in front of me. I do not care whose kid it is. I will stop it and tell them to take it private.
Thats me. Cam and i are very tight. He knows right from wrong and if he is wrong the teacher has every right to discipline him. I have no problem in that but you praise in public criticise in private.
Ive had bunches of leadership classes from being a NCO and from being leed electrician at work.
Kids need building up not tearing down unless there is major problems.
Cam is a really nice and mellow kid. 2 years ago he was being bullied and i asked him why he would not fight. He told me that he wanted to be friends with him.
What could i saw about that except ok. I told him some people you can not be friends with. About a month or two later he picked on a girl and Cam got in a fight with the bully because he picked on his friend.
As long as Cam does not start anything i have no problem with him defending himself. If he is wrong i expect him to apologize and look the person in the eye.
I expect him to say yes mamm and no mamm. I do not push yes sir much but mamm is a given. All i have to say is excuse me and he knows what he did.
We are very close he lived with us for about 4 years when he was born. I had to break the habit of him calling me Dad. He will now call me Papa.
He is growing into a fine young man.
