5 pounds of Flour
That's gonna make lots of gravy. I went by the shop that has the farmer's market but they were of no show. Since I was already there and I passed up the Lucky grocery chain I just wen in to Grocery Outlet.
Went in and they only had two types of flour and both the same weight. 5 pounds. I guess I'll be making a crap ton of Okonomi-yaki this coming year so I can get my $2.50 worth out of this bag.
Is there a way to store it long term so it won't go buggy?
Oh well it's gravy time.

Yosh, you just gotta start making more dumplings and biscuits!![:p]
Heck, 5 lbs. of flour won't last long enough to worry about the bugs!
On the other hand, just think of all of that free extra protein you'll get with the bugs!
I used to use flour to thicken my gravies but switched to CORN STARCH several years ago. No more lumps![:)]0 -

Mama-San at "the question mark bar" on siht street in Iwakuni used to make me okonomi-yaki. Man, I miss Japan (and the 70s!).0 -

We keep all our flour & sugar in plastic ice cream tubs. White flour is good long-term in the cupboard but whole wheat contains some oil from the wheat germ, best kept refrigerated. 0 -
Horse Plains Drifter - Had it in a plastic container that had "flour" on the side. Not air tight. Small termite looking things took up residence. Found some brown rice in twist top plastic containers and they too had similar bugs. Don't know if they came with or they are actually termites?
jim_lemay - What like in a Zip Loc? Won't moisture get in?
JimmyJack - Yeah, most Japo cuisine don't use much flour.
dcon12 - Love me a fat girl to keep me warm during the winter.
us55840 - Yup Gold Medal. Why is it infested with bugs from the mill?
1FMJ - I wasn't about to look for Arrow Root at Grocery Outlet. I did have file but I wasn't going to experiment with the classic.
sharpshooter039 - I don't think I'll invest in a vacuum sealer to save $2.50 [:D].
Brookwood - Not much of dumplings and biscuits kind a house. Let alone a loaf of store bought bread.
WearyTraveler - Okonomi-Yaki is good. Just enough batter to hold the shredded cabbage in a pan cake shape.0 -
A plastic tub with a lid keeps it from getting buggy. Store it in the deep freeze if you have to. We buy flour 100 pounds at a time. Never lasts long enough to get buggy. Store it in a drawer (in the bag). Keep it dry. Bake on! 0
