Winchester 190 problem solved
My nephew seems to think it's easy to get it back together, it was gonna be his someday anyhow. I showed him how the parts are supposed to go and he's got his grandfather's .22
It was a straw purchase. KMart had the display model gun on sale for only $40, dad wanted it but we were out of state. His sister who lived there bought it. Pretty sure the KMart guy knew but this wasn't too long after 1968 and things were more relaxed then.

We have two of them and are quite accurate, but there is a trick to getting them back together, if ya dont know the trick it will drive you crazy if ya learn the secret its a three minute job 0 -
We bought a Win. 190 from the local hardware store at the full retail price of $49.95 in maybe 1968 or so. Shorts were the cheapest .22 ammo then, so that is what it shot. Put over 10000 rounds through it. A piece broke out of the receiver behind the bolt so it got retired. I still have it but it hasn't been shot for over 40 years. Never had the need to take it apart. 0 -
If you have a 190 in which the barrel has not loosened in the receiver, consider yourself lucky. 0
