Shotgun chokes

Eric is not here and I can't get him on the phone...

Would someone please explain to me the difference between chokes and is a full choke an open choke? Can you shoot a slug through a choke, if so which choke and do you have to use a rifled slug? Thank you!!!!!!!!!

    What is a good lube for screw in shotgun chokes?

    I have a Benelli SBE that has screw in chokes and it came with a lube to use. After fireing the SBE I clean it, unscrew the tubes wipe them down with the lube provided and put them back in.

    I just got a Browning Citori with Invector chokes. No lube with the gun. I cleaned and inspected the gun, pulled out the choke tubes cleaned the tubes and used some Balistol to lube them before putting them back in.

    BTW I don't screw them in super tight until I get ready to shoot, is the right way to do it?

    I use the same Permatex copper bearing anti-seize compound that I use for sparkplugs, lug nuts, you name it.

    Agree. Use regular anti-seize on them. I have a tube of Birchwood Casey choke tube lube that is 100 zillion years old, and it's the same old grey A/S that gets every where, but works very well. IMO, no sense in having a tub of extra crap that gets used so little..

    Think this would be it cause its for High heat.

    I use the same stuff as I use on my nipples!

    Silver colored anti-seize, same as on my muzzle loader nipples. [:)]
