I have always enjoyed listening to this guy. He was the one talk show host who came out for Trump first thing in the primaries.
Now Mark Levin, whom I enjoy, was for Cruz. But once Cruz lost to Trump in the primaries, Levin saw that it was either Trump, or the Vile Harridan. So he immediately became a strong supporter of Trump.
Glen Beck, on the other hand, was also a Cruz guy. But when Cruz lost, Beck was too high and pure to get down in the sewer with Trump. He never supported Trump during the campaign and he just sat out the election on his cloud, up in his make-believe heaven, I guess.
Hannity stayed neutral until it was apparent that Trump had won the primaries.
So Savage was the first supporter of Trump. I listen when I can but he is hard to find, and not on Sirius.
So this week looks like the beginning of the end. His show is now only on for 1 hour a day, at 3 pm Eastern. Then goes to an hour of a podcast. I don't even know what a podcast is.
I caught his show today in Montgomery Alabama, happened to be there at 3:15 pm. My local station in NC had dropped him entirely.
Looks like the beginning of the end for Savage.

Is a hypocrite:
He goes on and on about why the Islamo-faschists hate us, and then slams Ron Paul for saying the same thing.
He used to criticize Parris Hilton and her ilk, calling them celebu-sisters. Yesterday he commended her for going back to jail--as if she had a choice!
He criticizes survivalists...come to find out he has his own remote bug-out location.
He loved/hated/loves The Sopranos.
I listen to him regularly and I understand he is an entertainer. I think people should take that into account while listening.0 -

I read that he is in hiding because a restaurant he goes to in San Fran received death threats that said if you serve him I am going to shoot your place up.
He used to be on all the time but most stations dropped him and I have not heard him on the radio in years. I liked Ken Hamblin too but I am not sure what happened to him either.
My problem was I was gone for about 12 years and lost track of a lot of stuff.0 -
Savage goes onto rants that make me turn off the radio. Before Beck saw the light I would turn Beck off when he went into his rants. Beck has to carry a lot of water for Trump before he can make up for the bad stuff he said about Trump. 0 -

Michael Savage was one of the two main voices that got me interested in political discussion and he was unquestioningly one of the leading voice in that regard. I appreciated his pull no punches approach to discussion and initially found very few things with which to disagree.
At some point, his voice, tenor, and message changed and I found him less and less on the mark. I think it was about the time that Romney came on the presidential scene. Given some of his adamant stances prior to that, I find his allegiance with Trump very strange, now.0 -
I agree Mr. Perfect Savage was better several years ago. Has deteriorated a bit.
What is weird, the station I listen to him in NC is from Johnson City Tenn, and for the past several years, on the few occasions when I am at home, they would run the first two hours, 3pm and 4pm, as normal.
Then, for the 5pm show, they just replayed hour number one.
I don't know what the hell, I guess Savage was running out of gas and only could do 2 hours.
At any rate, down to one hour now and a podcast, I bet he is gone gone pretty soon.
Yes buddyb I know what you mean about Neal Boortz. I am from Atlanta and listened to him for a long time. He was better than anybody on the air now I hated to see him go.
I knew Neal. He had a hot air balloon, the guy is so shrewd he got the Atlanta Flames hockey team to buy the balloon, then, he got his balloon license and he flew it. Free balloon and the Flames bought the propane. Shrewd guy, Neal.
So, I worked at the little aircraft factory where we made his balloon, Mike Adams Balloon Loft. Neal would come by about once a week to talk to us guys in the shop, there were only 4 of us who worked there, and he often went to lunch with us.0 -
He lost syndication for his entire show. I am not sure why, since his radio show was supposedly the highest rated conservative talk show (according to him). He talked for several weeks about the coming changes and how he was losing stations etc. Obviously it must be advertisement and endorsement related....if his show was making people money he'd still be on for the full show. He's been replaced on our local station by Dr Sebastian Gorka's new show America First. 0 -

The voice of New York, come Jan. 7, may be no more.
That?s because WABC, one of the city?s premiere, preeminent stations, is poised to boot Michael Savage ? to deplatform him, in broadcast-speak, said his attorney, Daniel Horowitz, in a telephone interview.
WABC isn?t saying such; in fact, a recent news release from the station indicates Savage will be moving into a new, fresher format designed to take advantage of emerging media, one that will see him do one hour of radio alongside one hour of podcast.
But the behind-the-scenes story is a bit different.
According to Horowitz, who said he?s seen ?the emails back and forth? between his client, Savage, and the radio powers-who-be, ?The Savage Nation? is actually poised to go dark on WABC on Jan. 7.
And not just on WABC: Horowitz said media powerhouses in Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C., are all giving the boot to Savage, as well.
Why? What?s going on?
Well, it?s not ratings, Horowitz said. And he?s right; the numbers bear the truth of Savage?s years-long radio dominance.
Take a look: ?Michael Savage Proves a Ratings Tour-de-Force on Bay Area?s KSFO,? Newsmax blared in a headline in June of 2016, in a story on Savage?s domination in that West Coast market.
Then there?s this: In late 2017, Talk Stream Live listed Savage, with 14.8 million listeners, as the second most-listened to top talk radio voice in the nation, behind only Rush Limbaugh?s 16.5 million listeners ? but far ahead of third place Laura Ingraham?s 6.8 million.
Don?t forget this: In 2016, Savage made the National Radio Hall of Fame in the category of Spoken Word On-Air Personality, based on the votes of the listening American public.
So if not ratings ? what then?
Westwood One?s Bart Tessler, the man Savage said was responsible for syndicating his show, replied to an email seeking an explanation by saying, ?that?s a WABC item, not Westwood One.? The contact he gave, Lisa Dollinger, didn?t immediately respond.
Meanwhile, Radio Insight reported in September that Westwood One was ?shaking up its weekday afternoon Conservative Talk block? and that ?Ben Shapiro To Go National As Michael Savage Cuts Back To One Hour.? The release went on to note that Cumulus just ?launched Ben Shapiro on six stations in April including a live clearance on 770 WABC New York and delayed clearances on WMAL Washington DC, WLS Chicago, WYAY Atlanta and KABC Los Angeles.?
OK. So out with the old, in with the new?
Perhaps. Perhaps that?s how the radio gods might put it. But given Savage?s ratings and time-tested popularity with the people, that excuse doesn?t meet the smell test.
More likely, it?s this: Political distaste for Savage?s fiercely independent streak.
?The only reason I can see,? Savage said in a telephone interview, ?is because of politics. ? It makes no sense. I have a loyal, large audience. Why not at least do reruns at night??
Horowitz put it blunter.
?Michael?s voice, unlike [his conservative competitors] has always been very independent,? Horowitz said. ?Savage is completely a wild card, right? And that?s what they?re trying to kill. It?s all about corporate control. Taking him off the air is not a business decision.?
Conspiracy theory? Think again. Think Alex Jones. Think Megyn Kelly. Just a couple years ago, booting these big money media draws would?ve been unthinkable. Fast forward a couple of politically incorrect blinks later and indeed, the unthinkable has occurred.
Michael Savage, in that same vein, could very well be the next nationally known victim of media censorship.
?Networks are actually losing millions of dollars in order to keep Michael?s voice off these stations,? Horowitz said.
Yes, indeed. ?The Savage Nation? could indeed be the next casualty of corporate censorship. And what a sad, sorry shame that will be for a nation already suffering from the plight of having too-few-and-far-between original thinkers.

When Boortz retired several years ago, he was replaced by Herman Cain, the black guy former presidential candidate.
At that time, of course his main station was WSB 750 in Atlanta. But it was also syndicated on 310 stations. Rush has 620 stations, Sean has 570 stations. So, having 310 stations is a big deal.
I no longer live in Atlanta but I drive through there 2 or 3 times a week and I get traffic on am 750, actually they have powered that down now they are primarily on fm 95.5
So I would listen to Herman Cain quite a bit.
I must say I was very disappointed in Herman's show. I liked his politics but honestly he sounded like a dumb ass to me.
Well I wasn't the only one. Herman had the treasured 9 am to noon time slot. After a few years, he was switched to 9 to 11 am, and another host 11 to noon. Then, he announced that the syndication was just about kaput, and he was on only 7 stations not 310.
And then, about 3 months ago, it was Bye Bye for Herman Cain. His show was vaporized. Now all he has is a 2 minute spot, just before the noon news. And his replacement is a couple guys and some gal, what a bunch of giggling morons! Can't stand to listen to them.
"Where have you gone, Neal Boortz, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you, woo woo woo...."
It is a brutal business if you don't get the numbers you will be gone.
But, Savage had the numbers, so strange that he is going.

He has always come on the air at the half hour, at whatever :34
Thirty four minutes after the hour.
For the past several months, more often than not, he will come on at the :34 mark, with a commercial, maybe for Simply Safe security system. And it will be a long commercial. Maybe 2 minutes, maybe 3 minutes.
My God this guy is on a $34 million contract. I wonder why he feels the need to put in a lengthy commercial into what once was the main show. He must be charging an arm and a leg for these special commercials. Once you make 34 mil a year what do you need all that extra cash for?0 -

Agree 100% Don. Once a talk show host gets to the point that they only want to hear their own voice I'm done with them. I enjoy listening to Mark Levin, but when his fill in's like Dan Bongino take over it's pretty rough to listen to. It's like the little chicken get's to be fog horn leg horn for a short while..0 -

Someone has to pay that salary. If he's garner the listeners I say go for it!!0
