Trap shooting insurance???
I have been directly involved in a benefit trap shoot for the last 5 years or so. It started out 22 years ago to help put some kids thru college who lost their father in a logging accident. 22 years later we have put all of them thru college, and are now starting to give college scholarships to forestry students. We recently became a full on 501c3 organization. The problem that we are running into is that since we are now our own organization the local trap club that hosts us says that we can't be insured for our shoots under them. I've contacted the NRA, but they only offer insurance for "gun clubs", and not a once a year thing. Local insurance companies don't cover anything like what we are doing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Go talk to your insurance agent, most do "event" type insurance.
If your agent doesn't know anything or can't help you go to a different agent, repeat until you find one that does. Some insurance companies are very specialized and wouldn't do a single event let alone a shooting event but someone will. The bad news is that carrying insurance will probably be cost prohibitive unless you are charging quite a bit for the shoot.0 -
