Many Democrats hate for others to own guns, but want them for themselves and their bodyguards. So they have to -and will- find a way to exempt themselves from any gun ban. 0 -
I doubt it could pass the House, would split the Ds in the House.
Maybe lots of the new folks are NRA "Fs" but there are enough Ds in the House for whom a yes vote on strong gun control would mean it's their last term. If they are looking to 2020 they won't touch gun control. They will say it could never pass the Senate, or get signed, anyway.

Their dept policy likely required it. Many agencies have a no carry policy if you are consuming alcohol.0
