Who buys "your" Christmas gift(s)
For the past few years, I have bought the gift(s) that I want and my wife buys hers. I wrap hers and she wraps mine. Can't use or wear the gifts until opened Christmas morning.
That way we each get what we want. Correct size, color, design, etc. and no returns.

slowly went to buy what we want
but I will still get at least one gift for her , and she does the same for me good to have a little surprise
I still have my first Christmas present she bough me 40+ years ago ,it s suntune tune up equipment in a hard case ( dwell meter, remote starter , timing light , compression tester , vacuum gauge , all in a molded hard plastic case .. its a bit out dated now but back then it was the cats ass [^]0 -
I tell my wife 2 or 3 things and tell her to take her pick.

Jamie buys herself whatever she wants, then I get something for myself. We use it as soon as it arrives.
This year she bought herself a rechargeable Shark vacuum cleaner (ain't I one lucky guy!)
I just ordered myself a Shark HD4 CNC machine.0 -
we make a list and give to each other its easier that way.
just pick the things that we have budgeted to spend on each other.
she does good and gets a couple things on the list thats in budget

We don't exchange gifts with each other. We just buy for our son. Our gift to each other, is a vacation somewhere. This year, we are leaving for St. Augustine, Florida, the day after Christmas. Stopping to see an old friend in NC, then back on the road. We have Christmas all year round for each other. If we see something we want, we buy it then. Christmas is for the kids and grandkids. SO books a Sandals trip every year for our Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, Valentines day present to each other.
Kids and their SO's get cash.
Grandkids get everything/anything they want.0 -
We send each other links for what we want, and it is up to us to purchase those items, plus we buy little stocking stuffers as surprises. I am particular so I'd just assume she not spend too much money on things I didn't ask for, and my interests are mostly firearms related so she usually has no idea what to buy without my direction.
