Opinions on Johnson City TN area, or other ideas?
I am considering moving south to get out of the Iowa crap weather. One place on my radar is the Johnson City/Bristol area. Looking for an area that is warmer but still has seasons. Good cost of living and demographics. Plus I am tired of living in a boring flat state. Love to camp and hike and Iowa is about as boring of state as you can get for outdoor activities. Mountains sound much more like my kind of scenery.

I'm 2.5 hours east of Bristol in VA. My SIL lives in Greeneville TN, works at ETSU. Johnson City/Bristol area is a nice area. My wife wants to relocate to TN, me I am aiming for SC once we hit retirement. Virginia is headed full blue so either way we're gonna be leaving here in the next 10 years. 0
