SIG P226
I have been looking at older ones, the ones marked W Germany.
I have not been a big fan of SIGs and never owned one, not sure why just haven't.
The only experience with a SIG is the 228/M11. I was issued one in 2002 during one of my Afghanistan trips but I didn't carry it much because we were on foot and I didn't want the extra weight.
I did shoot it a bunch and it was a nice gun. I liked the M9 a little better because you 2 more rounds and they really shoot well.
So tell me about the 226 those of you that like them.

Another D/S action gun. I'm not a big fan of having two different trigger pulls to get used to but that's personal.The 92 feels better in my hand.You can pick up 5906 S&W's pretty cheap sometimes and they are good guns. 0 -
I just checked and the 226 we have in the rental case has right at 20,000 rounds through it and other than replacing a few recoil springs I don't recall any problems. 0 -
They are pretty cabable pistols and I have one which i have run through its paces shooting USPSA and IDPA with it a few times.
For me the fatal flaw is the fact that im a lefty and when im working the gun during reloads I can inadvertently decock the damn thing.0 -

I've owned several 228s and 229s over the years. Nice shooting guns, other than the trigger. It has a Long LOP for my Trump size hands. It's also alot of weight when you spend your career carrying tactical tupperware.

I think I am going to pass as I need another 9mm like I need another colonoscopy especially a DA/SA gun.
I think I am going to look for a nice M19 S&W or a Lever gun in 38/357.0 -
I think I have a guy bring me a rolling block chambered in .357 magnum.[:)] 0 -
early ones were prone to slide rail cracks. its why the seals dumped them. when they had them, armory had to rebuild them at 100,000 rounds. factory reps were always here. 0 -

I agree 100K is a lot of rounds through any gun.
Any gun requires maintenance and new parts. I never get people who think a gun should be able to shoot millions of rounds and never give a hiccup.
What is the difference between a gun and say a lawn mower, both are machines and need maintenance.
That is why they have 3 levels maintenance to fix stuff and when it wears out it gets DX'ed.0 -

Well I just got into my safe and I have a 229 in 9mm, not a 226.
The reason i dug in there and looked was I was pretty sure it fit in Glock 17 holsters.
So while not terribly helpful, the Sig should fit in Glock holsters.0 -
My "go to" pistol is a 226 in .357 Sig. Like my P6 it has never failed in any way.
Might even get a .40 barrel for it sometime.0
