    I thought that was a given its been a rumor they were imitating a happy couple as long as Bert and Ernie have been around .
    just another a way too get kids to accept alternate ways of life / sex while there young . same as all the TV , Movies , commercials force feed mixed relationships , same sex , and what every the other 50+ classification's there are per the liberals
    people ( adults ) may do what want at home I got no problems its a free country , just do not throw it in our face just more hollyweard showing thru 24/7 [:(!]

    The guy who came up with the characters and the story line based things on his relationship with his male partner...

    The show - the network - the executive producer say that Burt and Ernie are puppets with no genitals and no preference.

    The LGBT#$?@ and happye community both want them to be happye - want it to be official and announced and for them to be out of the closet and for the show to openly show a happye couple to the children / viewers (like Heather has two daddies - to teach kids about happyes)

    The dems - progs - libs - alt left has had this on their agenda for a long time (first it was snuffleupagus was rumored to be happye and Maria was rumored to be a lesbian - etc)

    The teletubbies were supposed be LGBT and let's not forget about peppermint Patty...

    This is an author / writer saying something - relating data that until now existed only in his head - not an official statement from the show or from pbs)

    Everyone should know that the Bert & Ernie characters were derived from the late 1940's Christmas movie "It's A Wonderful Life"

    Ernie was the Taxi driver and Bert was the cop in that movie.
